Hi,

I’m as newbie so I hope this is an easy question for someone. How do you get rid of the default text in the demo data for the Footer Widget slot 1 to 4? I looked at the Widgets and there isn’t anything in it.

Thanks

Hi bettymaxwell2, this is a general open forum, are you referring to a specific theme you’ve purchased and need additional help with? If so, please post the name of the item. Thanks!

Yes, ThemeForest. I found that if I add a blank Text widget to the Footer Widget slot 1 to 4 that the text disappears, but it still remains about 1 inch high, it doesn’t collapse.

So my new question is which styles in the Style.css sheet do I need to change to get it to collapse when I don’t have any text there?

What theme did you purchase? This is a general forums as Dzinc said. Themeforest is a marketplace with multiple authors without knowing which theme you purchased we can’t direct you where to get support

Themetastic. Also, there is one other thing I would like to change and that is the space between the Footer and the bottom of the content, right now there is about a 1 3/4” gap. Can I also change this in the style.css page? If so, which style changes it?

Thanks for any advise.

Hi again bettymaxwell2, the appropriate support section for ThemeTastic, if offered, can be found here.

Please follow the instructions provided in the link above to interact directly with the author, where he’ll be able to point you in the right direction. Your patience is appreciated. Thanks and good luck.

Ok, I’ll try there.

Ok, I’ll try there.

In the mean time I found 2 of the fixes I was looking for.

To fix the large space between the bottom of the page content and the footer: 1 Open the Editor 2 Open the page.php 3 Go to the Bottom Spacing section and find: and replace the number with: 0, 10, 20, etc up to 80 (increments of 10). I used 0 it still leaves about a 1/2 inch gap.

To delete the default footer text: 1 Open the Editor 2 Open footer.php 3 Delete the default text

or as I previously mentioned: add a blank Text widget to the Footer Widget slot 1 to 4.
