For Wordpress only or for use on own server space

I just bought a site template HTML /CSS “Shapeshifter”. Is this for use only with Wordpress, or can you upload using FTP to a server that you already have a website hosted on?

I uploaded the files using FTP , but does not work aside from text and images (no css).

If it is for use on Wordpress only…I don’t see anywhere on Wordpress where I can “upload” files.

Never mind. I uploaded incorrectly first time. It works fine on own server space.
