People like freebies. I’ve had a free file of the month on another site and it was downloaded 7300 times during that time, while in the 5 months prior to that it was downloaded only 29 times.

Wow… They should do something to give back to the author somehow even if it’s not money. Because that seems like a lot of work supporting users for downloading your items free.

if they download it for free they dont get a buyers badge(like when purchased) also supports not required
plus authors submit there files to be for free, theres a form floating around somewhere

FFOM items are submitted voluntarily by authors and a few reasons why authors volunteer their items is the additional exposure the rest of their portfolio and personal brand receives, among other things. It’s a great exposure/marketing tool.

Yeah. Sometimes people download a free stuff just because it’s downloadable now and if not download it now they may forget and miss it in the future .
