Hi Guys

I was wondering if anyone knows of a good site where you can download FREE images that is under a GPL or other public license, for which you can do the following:

- Use commercially - Redistribute as and when you wish - Resell as part of themes or templates (samples)

I’m hoping to find a good site, APART from the Envato Asset Library, which isn’t that great.

Thanks

Note: make sure you read the license carefully for each image. Flickr lets authors set different licenses.

But Deviantart say this in their Terms of Service:

“You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display or perform, or prepare derivative works based on any of the Content including any such works without the express, written consent of deviantART or the appropriate owner of copyright in such works. “

My main thought is, where do all the ThemeForest template developers get all their images for their templates? There must be a large source that a lot of developers use?

You can use Flickr but only search within Creative Commons-licensed content…

Most authors license (buy) stock photos for their demo, but do not distribute them in the theme.

If you remove the “distribute” part of your question, then you have much better options.

Huh, I don’t understand what you mean. Is it worse to distribute free images than not to ?
