I just rendered a 1920×1080p project that lasted only one minute but took 4 hours to render

@ Repetition…. I’m going to show my age now, but I first used AE on a Mac Quadra 840 AV. It had a 40mhz processor, 8mb of RAM and 250mb hard drive, if I remember correctly. You could have one program open at a time and when you clicked the icon to open it, you would go and make a cup of tea and come back when it had opened.

OK…expectations change, but trust me. 4 hours to render 1 minute: that’s nothing. :)

I’ll show you my age Felt_tips: I bought a Mac Plus brand new when they came out (and later spent $500 an a 20MB (mega byte) external hard drive.

Hmm… $500 could get you 6TB now.

@ Repetition. Wow – a Mac Plus! You must be old as the hills too! :D

We should be rejoicing at the incredible development in computer speed (although After Effects is a bit of a speed laggard, I must admit)

Roll on CS5 indeed!

@ matthias.

Yeah… I wasn’t going to mention…

But 10 hours for a frame is still pretty heavy duty. What on earth are you rendering? :)
