Is that through Virgin? If so, do you have limits? I remember them having ridiculous “fair usage” policies only a few years ago. I never quite got how ISP’s could get away with selling “Fast internet” with stupid download limits.

It’s through EE (not trying to promote them!)

Yeah, I think we have to pay extra so that there’s no data cap, I remember a couple of years ago that ISPs were considering 3gb p/month to be ‘fair usage’, which is obviously ridiculous!

As far as the speed goes, we’re pretty lucky in this end of York, there’s a fibre line running right the exchange at the end of my street and then only a little bit of phone line to slow things down.

Have you been with orange/ee before?

We can get 150 mbps download speed for $53 (€41) around here. It’s amazing how each year the prices remains the same but the speeds go up :)

Yeah, sort of makes you wonder why they’re being priced as high to begin with, especially if one were to compare the difference in pricing all over the world (and I’m talking within the same continent even)

Be sure to take that speedtest when the time’s right!

I’m getting this for about 18$ / month, including phone and cable TV:

In Austria, I get 1/5 of that, for3x the price :D

I’m paying $45 for a 5mbps line in Canada which rarely reaches that speed. Our data cap is 20gbs and we pay $10 for an extra 50gbs The prices where I live are pretty brutal and fiber is not available anywhere

Adsl2+ here via bigjoke can be as slow as 56kb/s which they deem to be broadband speed. Mine is slower than a one legged sloth on anti depressants and a bargain at $139 mth
