I’ve seen that there is now a function which emails buyers one week after purchase to make them vote. However I still only have 10 votes and only one item is visibly rated (min 3 votes).

Is there any way to make sure customers rate your items without sounding pushy / needy? :)

The one way that works most of the time is remind the buyers to rate your item after a support request. If you manage to solve their problems, they will be happy and they will rate the theme. It worked for me every time I tried this method.
