Kind of an übertwirl plug-in. After Effects has been deciding against this one for years. I’m not sure on what grounds…. design? / system resources? So it’ll be interesting to see how much interest there is.
I reckon one of the big hurdles that Ae has to overcome at the moment is the difficulty of navigating the complexity introduced by After Effects’ own structural metaphor. This is nowhere so obvious as in visual effects tasks… I mean, you can’t even matte a matte or paint in context. Maybe this will help a little.

I think that’s right for the most part. All of the applications have their own traditions and their own special needs. It is a bit annoying when you’re dipping between applications though. But no more annoying than jumping between software from different vendors.
