As everyone knows, Google is launching Chrome Webstore,
Developers can develop Web Apps based on Open Source technology and sell them at a premium price or give away for free.
Since Envato is sort of in the same category and also launching new section for HTML5 Apps, will it make any difference here (specially @ codecanyon) ????

The chrome web store differs from envato marketplaces in the fact that it is basically an “iPhone App Store” for html5 apps.
The envato marketplaces sell components / applications for websites, these applications are not the same as “Web Apps”, web apps are like twitter, facebook, picassa etc. The stuff we sell here is like “client management systems”, to-do lists etc. In effect, at codecanyon, we sell the components that make up a web app., they are unbranded and for website owners to use.
So in short, no it will not effect the marketplaces
I suppose it’s too early to see – let’s hope not.

I have considered that idea
It could possibly attract more people to buy ready made web components
