Hooray! My current iPhone 2G (Yes, that’s a 5.5 year old beast of a machine) doesn’t support it, as nobody compiles for iOS3 anymore (and they shouldn’t) but seeing as I’ll be switching to a newer model soon, I’m quite excited! Heard it looks quite nice too

Was about time. Apple Maps was awful. Google has far more style: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEz1sSKCpIc
Woohoo! I initially had a terrible experience with Apple Maps, but it seems to have improved a lot quickly. I’m still happy to have Google Maps as an option.
I had problems with navigation last week in Sydney. Apple Maps give you no way to specify to avoid tolls. Often one of the alternate routes had no tolls, but not always. It was frustrating.
I’ve just downloaded the app, and I’m looking forward to trying it out. I used Apple Maps to navigate to a new Apple Store this morning, and I’ll use Google Maps for comparison when my Mac’s ready to pick up. I’d be interested to see how different the route is.

^ Adrian, Google Maps won’t send you to an Apple Store.
