+1, Very good move!
The only thing that is kinda shocking, is the two prices one on top of the other, seems like too much information on a few pixels.
With a listing of a few themes (such as in a new author’s portfolio), it looks fine. But when you have many elements, such as the Wordpress themes category, then things start to get a little crowded. You feel like you need to memorize all of those prices, which grabs the attention from looking at the theme’s details and pricing.
Maybe some sort of price switcher can be included, that you can switch between the prepaid prices and the buy now prices. Javascript warnings can remind the buyer he/she’s buying the item in prepaid or buy now mode.
Well, that’s my 2 cents, and I hope it helps to make better the new pricing system.
P.S.: Envato, you guys rock!

Awesome feature ! But I really don’t like the 2 buttons .. I think they are unnattractive.
Very cool to see this implemented, but I gotta agree the two text links could swapped out for two nice button type links. I’m sure Collis will come up with something nice!

Yeah I have to say it was a bit of a quick UI design for the browse page as I managed to forget all about it until a couple of days ago
What do you guys think of the UI on the actual item details page? (the bit that slides down)

Kudos to Envato to making the buying process 100% easier!
Here’s how this might work better
1) Nothing changes on the file page
2) When the user clicks “buy now”,- If they have the money in their account they just purchase the file at the normal rate
- If they don’t have enough money in their account, a message appears that says there is a $2 surcharge for “instant purchases” and they can avoid this extra charge by adding money to their account via prepay.
You’re not deceiving the customer because they can always choose to do a prepay and get the file for the advertised price. And files priced at $2 less will lead to more “buy now” clicks
P.S. I’m available for freelance marketing if there are any positions open

I’m going to have to +1 to this price switcher idea. I think it is a very good idea! Maybe as something you select in the very top header?
Very nice option indeed. A fast sale is always welcomed!
