ha. I got it. and Im hella happy for it. Its not like no one has ever done a 8 pixel font next to a logo with a solid white backround and a image gallery grid and news section. The legal system is what gets our world all messed up anyways. Usually only the lawyers get all the money. I come from a perspective of the hip hop culture where sampling existing things and remaking it is accepted and rewarded. Who knows what people would have done to this file reworking and stylizing it. It could have evolved allot of people here not to mention it is the best shopping cart I have found for flash so far. How many of the christmas tree files look just like the other christmas tree files and how do all the carousels and and movie players with thumbs on the right and full screen image galleries that all look alike not get removed if this is the policy. Are we allowed to remake only modules of sites and not the whole thing? I understand why you all took it down and I am not judging the decision as wrong. Its is just my opinion in general on people owning information, property, layouts, design and other things. Let the knowledge flow and society will grow. What if no one had ever sampled and hip hop never existed. That would suck. It is just like the us saying no nuke technology for anyone else but us. sort of. oh well end rant thanks for the great files great quality. thanks flashden for covering your ass and making sure the sight is not shut down by lawyers.

@unchartedrealms
In your hip hop world it’s cool if i make a record and put 50cents face on my album… and sell it that way?
I’m sure it isn’t… your example with those music samples does not fit here…

its more like taking a George Clinton song adding a shopping cart then letting DR. Dre rap on it . then putting Dre’s face on the cover and calling it the chronic.. changing history forever. But doing what you just said is what mix tape dj’s do all the time. They take a bunch of fools music and put it together and then put there name and face on the cover.. I hate mixtape dj’s but I used to love bumping the fresh freestyles. These days alot of the popular rap has no samples and is all keyboard sounds like the dirty south’s style. Not having those samples in the music has made it less likeable to me. This has lowered the quality of hip hop in my opinion. I realize that fwa takes great pride in the construction and functionality of there site. But it would be fun to see what people would do remixing there style.

I think what that means is not just if you put 50cent’s face on it .. It’s more like taking his head and photoshopping a mustache and glasses, and putting his head on Steve Irwin’s body and add a couple lollipops and butterflies in a field of ostriches and emus, In principle at least….

Nice album cover eh? I made it myself :)

You’d still get legal heat for the altered likeness of, because the likeness is recognizable

If the cart and functionality was that good, why not strive for a cool design that’s original? Because it’s easier to use the immediately recognizable look of a famous site to generate sales, but that’s riding the coattails of the hard work and thought that went into developing the FWA , which is what made them unique. The attempt was to entice people into feeling they could buy their own ready made FWA as it’s known today.. Rather alluring.. That’s why it was all white, and not black or another color, I think

So that short cut turned out to be a dead end.. rightfully if you ask me.

Don’t cut corners like that.. make your own cool skin for your functionality, Sure maybe won;t get sold as super fast, because you are not selling the FWA in this case but if the product is really great quality I’m sure the results will speak for themselves down the line, and you can always still use sex and speed to push it;)

However I am the one who nearly got arrested by MLB lawyers for trying to sell world seriez shirts at the game spelling series with a z and saying its not the same as world series. And I like graffiti. Which makes me not the most property ownership of stuff respecting individual. Corperations do it all the time. they take a brand name cerial and copy the food make the packaging and name sound the same as the big brand and make money directly taking business from the first brand on the scene. People take a burton jacket and send it to china where they rip it apart and find out how it was made and produce a similar cut jacket for the next guy all the time. I understand not everyone is going to agree on this stradegy but look at andy warhol. He used coperate identity and became rich and famous of it. sorry for the incoherent rants as I am bored out the frame.

that cover is to funny. I go to the fwa every day. when i first saw the templit I bought it before I realized it was the inspired by the fwa. maybe i am dum but i just did not put it together until later. I do agree that the best way to do it if you have all the resources is the way fwa made it, from skratch. I believe that not all have the skills or resources so they need a place to sample from. That is why hiphop can be made so dope so quick on such a little budget and not much music theory. because they take the best starting point that ever existed, miles davis, mozart, aerosmith, sting, and many others. I do thing that once they are famous and rich they should make the hip hop out of musicians and bands playing orinal compositions, if there still are any, and making something super sick from skratch.

I see everyone is trying also to rip off my trademark random ranting form of comedy, no names here (adrien) lol, not a bad statement there adrien but i would prefer to use this as a cd cover,

imagine a picture of an island floating in an ocean of raspberry jelly (not strawberry as strawberries make your lungs green) and on this island place 17 indian sitar’s with a 12 legged man playing table tennis with a gerbil, then place a picture of 50 cent on the bat of the gerbil. For added features i would include randomly placed fireguards and inflatable golf shoes.

... damn i need help lol
