Im not sure of the exact technicalities but I know some of the people behind it and they are VERY secretive. I imagine the API recognises the video being played (the number is unique to each video if you refresh the page) and the text response to the number in that play and that’s how it tells which content to pull into which video. It is also how they determine the fee drinks offers too.
