Just FYI I tried, using FF which works with onunload, catching the event using JS, passing it to Flash and then from Flash to the server… didn’t work. Its all closed down too fast for the server communication to take place so this definetly isn’t something worth attempting…

i’d stay away from any sorta onunload event or javascript hack. just give them a session that expires X minutes after the last activity was received on the server. this will cater for power outs, javascript disabled, browser crashes, browsers/security plugins that restrict unload events.

yeah I think this is going to be the way to handle this, onunload just isn’t reliable enough :(
