Hi everyone! Lots of people have been looking for ways to help out with the relief effort in Haiti.

As my small part to help out, I decided to donate 100% of my sales (my commission cut) for a day to the American Red Cross effort in Haiti. I’ve seen at least a few other authors putting on similar donation drives for various lengths of time. I think this is a great way to put our networks and abilities together to help out a country in need.

So, I just wanted to throw the idea out there for some of you who might be interested in running similar drives. This definitely isn’t a mandate, a requirement, or a guilt trip, but it’ll help out a lot of people in a devastating situation right now.

(Plus, in most countries, donations are tax deductible so long as you’re giving to a verifiable non-profit organization. Oh, and it’s just plain good for your image if you want to approach this from a purely self-serving manner, which is fine by me. Giving to a good cause is awesome regardless of the motivations.)

Thanks for reading this. Cheers!

Oh, if you are going to do this (or have donated already), drop your name here for your free ‘high five’. :)

I’m always in to help people… the videos of the earthquake are scary… I’ve never seen something like that… every envato member should donate, at least 1$. We’re 300.000 and we can do so much!

Also, in the US, if you want to help, you can text HAITI to 90999 and $10 will be charged to your cell phone bill from the American Red Cross.

redcross.org

This of course is only if you don’t have anything you can buy on here from a supporting author and still want to help.

Can’t seem to get the donate page loaded. Guess that’s a good sign.
