Hi all, I’ve been working on my first theme for ThemeForest which has just been rejected because:
The overall quality of your submission does not meet our aesthetic and technical requirements and will need to be improved before being resubmitted.
My main question is – is this rejection because the reviewer doesn’t like the look of the theme or because it doesn’t have enough features? Happy to work to improve but knowing which would be very helpful!

Preview: This is the live preview of the theme – it is a theme for a long form sales page. Any thoughts and feedback from you guys would be really appreciated.

Thank you.

With respect your file is a long way off submission standards here. It is unlikely to have anything to do with the reviewers personal opinion as there are a lot of standards that are not met in the general requirements.

First off it needs to be a landing page not a theme (for it to be classed as a full site you would need to add way more pages and content).

Logo needs reworking, typography needs updating, it is not responsive (not a requirement but very common) alignment needs work, there is nothing to it really especially in certain bits like the contact area.

Generally the design looks outdated and too simple while it lacks any stand out or highly unique features.

We are not trying to be harsh but take a look at top selling items and you will see the difference in detail, options, features etc. even on simple one page landing pages.

Good luck

I’m almost sure they don’t like how the theme looks like. Browse through recently approved themes and templates, I bet you’ll notice – most of them (if not all) are quite havy in terms of visual design (at least in headers), full of small details (that’s the key I guess), and, well, have the same structure: header-slider-setOfSmallTextBlocks-divider-moreSliders-whatever-footer :)

Its a good start, but I’d advice working on both the design and features. Good luck!
