Hi folks,

Just a quick Q… Have anyone of you ever used a PSD ->WP service company for your themes? if yes, was it a good experience or complete waste of time&money?

There are 100s of companies offering this service but I have really big concerns that they can deliver quality end product, especially for themeforest and today’s standards.

cheers in advance..

If you want the final product to be ready for TF keep in mind you’re gonna pay much more than if you were to use it for a client website who wants Worpdress as a backend CMS . The reason for this is the flexibility and the heavy use of various jquery scenarios you’ll need in a theme. And all such services have a common policy, regarding this. For example, jQuery menu => + $25-50 and so on. I believe it’s better to team up with someone. You’ll get less money after partner share but in longterm this could be much worthy option. Just my subjective opinion.

I don’t mind paying little bit more if the final product is a TF quality standards… I also don’t mind partnering up with a coder, however its not that straight forward especially that not all designs is going to end up in TF. I need a lot of stuff done for my clients.

All those sites seem to be very vague… there are lots of variables that need to be built in a theme, starting from sleek menus, sliders, widgets, social networks and other fancy stuff not even mentioning custom admin panels. its very hard to judge sites that offer psd->wp for 99 bucks, can they actually deliver quality if u offer them to pay waaaaaay more than that…

These sites that offer psd > wp are cheap for a reason, the job is done cheaply and quickly overseas, and corners are cut. One example would be that they might use a piece of software they built or using a tool such as Artisteer which converts HTML to WP.

Pay cheap, pay twice IMHO .

I see you’re in the UK, I am too and a WordPress theme developer, if you’re looking for someone to help out with WP stuff.

Those cheap companies are bunch of beginners…i hate when clients contact me saying “we updated wp and theme shows 200 errors”, i see bunch of custom queries in themes, twentyeleven theme parts and lots of other things :)

I usually code themes for 500$ – 1500$, depends on complexity and type of website (portfolio, ecommerce..)

Hi, I have had to edit sites for clients who have had them created in HTML and Wordpress by those sites and it is in general a nightmare.

Occasionally you get someone good but beware it is complete pot luck and often are a lot of hidden extras.

Your best bet is to find an author on here you like and contact them and ask them to do a freelance job – the quality of designers and code build here is MUCH higher.

Good luck.
