Looks more Trapcode like than fluid dynamics like. But nice.

Mind you, the ink thing is pretty impressive. Only for Autodesk tho.

addey, all good dude :)

If they do release a standalone version, as said in their website, I’d be tempted to try it out . Much like an improved particular indeed. Looks like ton of fun (and math..) :)

As far as I understood it, it’s more of an addon to 3ds max’s particle flow ( or any other particle plugin. like thinking particles). It’s sort of render engine for particles where it multiplies number of particles with all sort of rules. By doing so it gives much denser particle creations. But might be wrong here.

I guess the main problem with Trapcode is that the behaviour of particles is fairly simplistic… certainly regarding turbulence and so on. Of course, the joy is that you can do without the agonizing render times of fluid simulations.

I’d guess that this is a similar system, but some of the simulations do look very convincing. I wonder how quick it is (and what it will cost).

Fluid sim wise, there’s Turbulence for C4D at €399, DPIT at €700. Blender for free.

If you’re a 3DS or Maya sort, FumeFX’ll set you back €1000 and if you have just inherited millions from a long lost aunt, then Realflow’s gotta be your tool of choice at a mean €5000.

Are there any more we can think of?
