HELP: Themeforest Guideline on WP Theme Designer/Dev?

Hi, I’m planning to submit a theme here but I want to know first the “standard” way of coding; if there is one. Or just purely the guideline. And Can you guys give me a tip about the kind of themes that are accepted here. I know you accept wordpress, I mean i need a guidelines first.. Does it have to be Cross-browser compatible? Perfect CSS Coding ethics?

Everything needs to be perfect

yep, in short, everything needs to be perfect. in my experience, concentrate on:

• valid html (css doesnt really matter)
• spacing between elements needs to be intuitive and consistent
• only use licensed imagery

i’m sure there is a lot more to it but these have been my sticking points. good luck!

Thank you so much Matt! This is one of the things I’m trying to ask for. Finally! and does this also mean, I would create my own plugins/widgets? What if I’m going to partner with other dev and have their plugin install with it, would it be fine?

how about bought images over corbis or a royalty free perhaps?

You can have the plugin/image for which you have a commertial license on the main file and for non commertial image/plugins you can use them on live preview for the theme

Additionally, you also may want to run WP_Debug and the “Theme Check” plugin to make sure you’re coding to the latest wordpress standards as well.

Thank you so much guys. I’ll check that theme check plugin and WP_Debug. Sorry, I’m new to wordpress. I have built one using blank theme of chris coyier (child theme) and had it worked with my design successfully but I only know custom widget. But on Admin Panel options = NONE . I’m searching for tutorials about this… Hoping I could find a good and easy to understand tutorial.
