Yeah, mod_rewrite is very frustrating .
the only piece of code that has worked isIf so, maybe you should write a rule for every file you have. Like:
RewriteRule .* good.html
RewriteRule about$ about.html RewriteRule contact$ contact.html RewriteRule services$ services.html
It is very inefficient but simple.
and another strange thing is when i go to website.com/images it says there is no indexfile where as most places give you a 403 error
Did you remove
If no, then mayby try this:
RewriteRule images/$ - [F]
ok ill try that and see how it works (crossing my fingers) probably like tonight on the images folder its not bad that it says that it just struck me as really odd and I did delete the options thing but put it back that happened over and over about 10 times.
Thanks so much for all the awesome help ill let you know later if it worked
this is how I do it…
Options FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^index/(.*) index.php /* http://youdomain.com/index/ */ RewriteRule ^blog/([0-9]+)/(.*) blog.php?id=$1&title=$2 /* http://yourdomain.com/blog/18/blog-post-title */
add RewriteBase / when your using godaddy hosting..
Ok ill try that have not yet got the chance to get another crack at it
Well i ended up dropping the client (long story) so I wont be working on that project any more
Thank You all for the awesome help!
