If i use for the preview files a wood texture for the background just to show how the business card stands will it be legal or illegal, i mean i use it only to show how it looks not to resell it. So it’s ok or i should purchase the wood texture file first?

The answer to your question:
If the license of image says that it is free for commercial use, YES , you can use it.
If the license of image says that it is free for personal use only, NO, you cannot use it though you can always ask the image owner if using it in preview is OK since you’re not reselling it.
If there is no license then it is better left alone. Though you can virtually use anything you find on net without caring for the license or even knowing what copyright infringement means, which is what many authors on Envato are doing nowadays.
Only a designer knows the hard work involved in something created by him and the same goes for the people who create those assets to be used by us. It’s their hard work so ripping them off is ethically wrong.

Yes, you should purchase it first.
If it’s here in the Marketplaces, I think using it in a Preview for another item classifies is as License is Used for that single purchase.
