I personally don’t mind, especially when it’s a high seller because it’s either obvious or shows me yet another top seller – eitehr way it’s a winner for the buyers.

As an author I’d be ticked off if one of my themes got bumped off because of it though.

Guess waht I am saying is, for all the great and awesome stuff the developers do – I’ll give them this one little bug which for all we know could be a bit of a nightmare.

All the “great and awesome stuff” they’re doing? Come on…. They are people who have a job to do and they’re just doing that… Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying they’re doing a terrible job, but I think “great and awesome” is just a tit bit too much… People who save sick children for scraps in Africa, they’re doing great and awesome work… Developing a website and taking a paycheck, well… that’s just what it is…

Anyway, let’s not get lost in what’s what… I still think this issue should have been handled months ago and not doing so is sending a very nasty message to the community: “If you know how this dirty little trick works, please go ahead, exploit it as much as you please and cut in front of others who are playing nice, and if you don’t know this trick… well, too bad for you!”

Im not sure what this actualy does but anything that makes the marketplace unfair should be removed / fixed naturaly. I assume its something that keeps your items within the most recent items on the front page? As featured items and authors are manualy selected?

The bug affects updated items, so like if you update your theme and it falls into a certain criteria (very few actually know) it goes through. I don’t think authors are doing it delibereately.

It’s easy to spot just look at the recent items and look at the sales – one today has about 150+ after day of release lol. Hmmmm…......

That’s an interesting approach – for example I’d never ever buy a high seller, I’ll search exactly for something that’s nice and underappreciated and is not on the front page. I don’t want a website that looks the same as 500 more. :)

I agree totally, if I was buying for use for a website but as an author I’m often buying to see some cool feature they’ve used or to learn how they’ve coded a particular item – it’s a great way of learning I find.

That’s probably the reason I’d buy anything from TF. :)

Sorry if I’ve gone too offtopic but I thought it’s kind of related to author sales – how users would think.

I got bumped off the front page a couple of weeks ago by this same thing…

This is not a smack at the staff… but they’re a lot of things that are asked for by the authors fixes wise (bug on front page, star rating system, project/item collaboration, etc.) and there’s rarely if ever any notice of progress or what’s going on… we’re all just left in limbo for the majority of the time.

To me the only thing that get’s updated/fixed around here are redesigns to the blogs and sites. Which is sad, when your authorship isn’t screaming for redesigns just for what we have now to be fixed. :|
