Hi AJ community I thought it was about time I introduced myself. I started on AJ back in November but only really began in ernest in February. This warrants and explanation – maybe some of you can relate. I almost left AJ altogether in the beginning and removed a lot of my tracks because I thought their terms and the contract were lousy and I was being completely done over.
After trying some other sites with mixed success a number of factors caused me to reconsider and go exclusive with Audiojungle:
a). The community here is awesome! No joke I am so impressed with the mutual support here on the forums, plus helpful staff, with the added bonus of being able to network across envato marketplaces.
b). I weighed up less sales/higher cost vs more sales/el cheapo option and opted for the latter after seeing what is possible – there are many great artists here doing great things and making a decent to lucrative income.
c) green is my favourite colour
I am kind of kicking myself now because I lost a few months of sales even if I was non-ex, but I am in this now for the long haul.
So there you have it. I now have 30 tracks with more on the way and working hard on refining my craft, and really enjoying the experience and comraderie here. I promise to not stay so quiet from now on.
Welcome back, from a real Newbie
Well, wish you the best. And welcome back!
trust me, i did the same thing a year or so ago… ‘spread my files’ over many non-exclusive stock houses like a total slut !
But as soon as i decided to go exclusive, i found my sales increased remarkably and just got my Red Paw actually yesterday!!! (i initially thought it must be some hidden envato script code that makes exclusive authors items appear near the top of search list ??!) .. .hmmmm
no, only joking !
But for me, being exclusive really does show a commitment. A chance for me to really concentrate on the quality of my work, and build a brand here in the marketplace.
It’s no wonder why 19 out of the top 20 best selling Elite authors are Exclusive.
Welcome back, and good luck and i wish you many sales
Welcome back dBlever – we started at the same time and I am trying to stick it out and ride through the good times as well as the quiet times. I completely agree with you that the community on AJ is fabulous and I have made some nice long distance mates. I sometimes consider other sites but AJ is working for me and what with my freelance work I get by – just.
Good luck for your return Graham
It’s never too late Dale! Glad to have you back
