Its my first theme, I’ve made 15 sales in about 2 days and 3 hours – how does that stack up?

Oh, and how long do I remain on the ‘NEW’ section on the home page?

Your item will stay for about 2-4 days on the front page.

After this period, in almost 90% of the time your sales will go down. There is not really a rule of thumb how fast item sales drop. Some sell well for months, other sell infrequent for the next months and other stop selling instantly.

Oh, so that’s how it is. I moved up to 18 sales, pretty happy. I think I’ll be off the homepage anytime now, but maybe I can make a few more sales and move into the bottom of the popular items page :D

That’s not bad; about average.

Once you’re off the front-page, you’re either going to continue selling at an average rate or drop to a “here and there”-kinda deal.

Individual product sales can be mind-breaking to try to track and predict. Much like developing a portfolio in any field, the key to long term success here is to develop a healthy stable of high quality, well designed products that maintain a high reputation (rating) with users. It also helps a ton to get out there and do self-promotion via a blog, Twitter, etc. etc. In short though, 15 sales early on is a great start for any new author :)

Keep up the good work!
