I want to put a small photo gallery in my posts in wordpress. The idea is to make an e-commerce site with text and other info on the left and then 6 thumbnail images on the right. 3 on top and 3 underneath. Do you know how I can get this to happen?

i guess the easiest way is to put 6 custom fields in your post, and place them on the right, each containing 1 photo…

well I need it to be able to upload a photo and fill that spot. I don’t want to hand code every post. That is the problem.

You could use the NextGEN gallery.

I’ve used it before and it can do exactly what you need.

Wordpress will do this by default, using the gallery short code

Then I would suggest using the cleaner gallery plugin, this plugin replaces the default gallery feature in WordPress with a valid XHTML solution and offers support for multiple Lightbox-type image scripts.

Yeah i would go for the custom field route personally rather than plugins.

Although plugins are good and handy, they are not always coded correctly or XHTML valid and tbh can be buggy.

Not all i must add, just some.

well I gave the cleaner gallery a try and I have not noticed any difference in the gallery at all. The plugin is active but I am not seeing anything. The wordpress gallery doesn’t allow me to set the alignment to the right. I have tried several times but it always puts the images into the center of the post. I need them off to the right. It does allow me to put them on the right if I insert each image one at a time. but that would then defeat the purpose.
