VERY OFF! Glad you can see the funny side and we actually quite enjoyed the detective work! :-)

If you want a PROPER developer to help you then ask here. Also just search “school” or “education” there are some great files that look a lot better and more modern. Good luck

Can you give me some examples ( and maybe links) of what would a modern or better design would look like for this type of website(education related), So as we know what to look for once we hire a new designer?

( I already looked at few templates here and liked what I saw, but then again like I said this is not really my area of expertise :) )

I know education templates are not meant to be esp quirky or cool and that 90% of schools/unis use the same (quite dated) style BUT of all the templates on here…. (excusing looking at what is good generally online in terms of design):

http://themeforest.net/item/grand-college-wordpress-theme-for-education/1865598 these guys code is great and they are a solid author with versatile designs http://themeforest.net/item/schoolfun-university-school/6757372 is a safe bet – we used it for someone’s project and it is good to work with and quite flexible. http://themeforest.net/item/universe-education-responsive-wordpress-theme/7145660 likewise a safe bet http://themeforest.net/item/wp-education/4786561?WT.ac=search_thumb&WT.z_author=vuzzu is not far off what you had BUT beware this one has not been update din some time.

Remember several of these are WordPress so you can edit yourself going forward too.

Alternatively you can look at multipurpose themes like Enfold, X, Jupiter etc BUT you would need to rethink the design side of things which takes time and expertise so I would stick with ones already intended for educational styles.
