I just started by building things that I thought people would want. Ultimately the more time and effort you put into your files and your customers feedback/questions, the more following and respect you will get. So essentially hardwork = success. Its simple.

I started with the PHP scripts because that’s what I did in my free time, and I thought why not if I would also be making money?

I agree with Reid that you should try and answer all the customer feedback/help questions you get because it will get you known for helping someone. I’ve answered pretty much every questions and I think that helped me to get a 5-star rating on every item I have. :)

I earned respect by being the best here .. easy. :)

I’m joking :)

I was doing some design contest at CrowdSpring.com and I found out flashden .. and then themeforest.

At first I didn’t know how to code html/css and I did some PSD theme wich didn’t sold really well .. I paid someone to code a theme I did and it turn out to be a real mess … so I decided to really learn how to code and now I do everything myself.

I knew Flashden then before i heard Envato was opening a new market place called ThemeForest then i made my first theme “Renkli” and when it opened i uploaded it. Well if you want some respect here i suggest you answer customer questions and help them like others said. I’m a computer engineering student now and ThemeForest is helping me financially and I’m really grateful to Envato and this community for supporting my student life a little bit :)

I remember posting my first WordPress theme I made, and boy was it ugly. I remember a lot of you being extremely friendly and willing to help. I like to think I have improved greatly since then :)

Shortly after, I saw there was a blog opening and spent hours and hours on an article and sent it in to Jeffrey, the rest is history!

As for how I gained respect here, I’m not sure if I have :P

I was considering launching my own website to sell my WP templates. While doing research, i found ThemeForest and decided to give it a shot first since they seemed to be able to handle the parts i don´t really enjoy, while i could focus on actually building the themes. I´ve been very happy in here ever since.

About the respect part…well, still working on it.
