how do you market yourself ?

As the topic says, what do you do to sell your products more ? And does it really affect any sales ? Would feel great to hear from you.

I don’t advertise my products anywhere at all, but I plan on investing some money from the profits, once I release my website.

Well all you could do (i guess) is buy advertising. But you would have to do so for your Themeforest profile. If you want to do so for your personal website that would mean having to stop selling exclusively on TF and having to accept a 33% share of the TF sales.

I would also be curious to know if anybody earned anything from placing ads. I know that TF offers ad campaigns at a certain point in an author’s arise. Are those any good?

Having an active blog, twitter, and other social profiles helps. Also, search in foruns people having a problem that your product could solve. This is what I do and it helps sales a bit. I think it’s the ‘entry level’ of self marketing.
