How Do you protect against Piracy?

50K is for 2 years so it’s 25K annually (for the past 2 years anyway, was a lot less before).

Even so, it’s still a lot of money for Serbia, if i kept everything for myself anyway. But because Serbia sucks i have unemployed parents (“bivsi privatnici”) and a few more close family members who i have to financially support (total of 5 including me) and on top of that try and put some money aside to start a business for them so they can earn for themselves.

I can’t support them forever and one of the reasons is that TF income drops constantly. If it continues to drop like it does now i’ll be on the streets a year from now.

So yeah, those who use my pirated themes literally take food out of my mouth.

And yeah, i did study hard and i do work hard. For 7 years now (i’m 24) i barely had any social life, i spend 90% of the day at this desk and only social life i have is one night per week (either Friday or Saturday).

And i’m sure i’m not the only one, so that’s why it sucks that they steal from us.

Now, i would like to apologize to everyone for writing this little life story of mine.

Every copyright owner must continuously send DMCA ’s, without any boredom or wearisome !

I protect myself against piracy by not opening topics about piracy in the place I’m trying to sell my items.

Thanks for letting us know a piece of your personal life. This is a big reality check to/for those who think that life comes easy for elite authors. I’m from Romania, so yeah, 25k/year is decent money but not a lot when having to support so many people. Hope to see more and more awesome products from you guys, you’re one of my favs here on TF.

Off topic, why don’t you develop joomla versions of your stuff?

Even if ThemeForest would disappear tomorrow with your talent and skills I’m pretty sure you woudn’t have any problems with finding job in some “rich” country like Sweden or so.

Implement DRM system into functions.php, then encode this file using Zend Guard (99% of hosting companies has a Zend Optimizer installed on servers). As I know it’s really hard to break it and I doubt that anybody will spend 20 or even more hours decoding it.

There is another problem caused by piracy, the pirated theme loses the uniqueness. Who need a template used on 1.000.000.000 websites, it’s just a shame to use such popular template on business site.

Have you ever successfully used that? Could you go a bit deeper in the subject?

Time is money so invest your time in making new things rather than wasting your time fighting piracy.

No because TF reviewer won’t approve a theme with encrypted files Anyway IP.Board uses/used DRM system protected by Zend Guard.
