Pozdrav :)

Pozdrav from Bulgaria:-)

I totally understand you but so far I believe it’s impossible to even reduce piracy. What would be great is if TF hires few more people to track and send DMCA notices on a fulltime job. It won’t stop it of course but it could limit the illegal envato content or make it hard for everyone to find it online. It should be easy to add a notification when an author uploads an item to give the permission for envato to do that on his behalf. But as many other things (comments, ratings etc.) envato really doesn’t care. So you are (an all of us) on your own and you can’t win this fight.

Once I’ve heard a nice prayer: “God give me strength to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

At this point we can’t change it. So we can just accept it

Thanks for letting us know a piece of your personal life. This is a big reality check to/for those who think that life comes easy for elite authors. I’m from Romania, so yeah, 25k/year is decent money but not a lot when having to support so many people. Hope to see more and more awesome products from you guys, you’re one of my favs here on TF.

Off topic, why don’t you develop joomla versions of your stuff?

Cheers

Back when i was still new here i thought the same for those with 100K+ badges, i was wrong.

Thanks, i’m glad you like our themes. :)

I don’t have any experience with Joomla development and can’t find the time to learn it at the moment, but if the financial situation becomes a bit better so i can afford the time to learn Joomla dev i will definitely look into it.

Even if ThemeForest would disappear tomorrow with your talent and skills I’m pretty sure you woudn’t have any problems with finding job in some “rich” country like Sweden or so.

Thanks, it means a lot to hear such kind words about my work. Especially when it comes from a very successful author :)

Yeah, never gonna happen unfortunately.

Ok so here is the thing i am sure you guys all know this. As per WP themes you really cannot rip it because of all the back end files righ not like an html theme that has no back end.

So what i am thinking is that if there is a working WP template on the pirated sites with all the php files then i guess it is not a ripped version but a fully working one and the only way that can be possible is if the person that bought the file uploaded it on these sites.

I have seen this with my flash files even with the original help files attached with the download from the pirated site. So how would that get there? Unless the person that bought it shared it, right.

We should obfuscate the code for the previews tho because a lot of times i think they get ripped from the preview. Wonder if there would be another solution that maybe Envato came up with for the previews.

Cheers

Lester

I have an idea.

Someone mentioned that his theme got pirated with only 3 sales. So one of those 3 is a pirate, with a bit of research Envato can figure out who it is and ban his account.

Now, listen up before you say “Well he’s just gonna make a new account”. Envato has info about his method of payment (paypal, moneybookers, credit card) so we can find out who he is.

First offence

Ban his account and his paypal/moneybookers/credit card so he can’t deposit any money, so he can’t purchase anything.

Second offence

If he decides to do it again (i don’t think he will thou) and we catch him (won’t be hard knowing all his info from the previous offence) we sue him, we’ll have enough evidence, he’ll go to jail. Again, i don’t think it will come to this, noone wants to go to jail for pirating $50 WordPress themes.

I know he’s not the only one, but maybe he’s one of the bigger pirates, even if not i’m sure we can stop them all eventually. Get one of them, let everyone know we got him and a lot of the other’s will s**t their pants and reconsider.

And i have another little idea but it’s not for a public forum, we’ll talk about it more privately if possible.

Slobodan, while your idea gave me an adrenaline rush and made me want to say LET ’S F#$K THEM !; how would Envato find out who the pirate is?:) My PSD got pirated after 2 sales, but it’s still hard to know who pirated it. How would you find that out?:)

He can buy themes using fake pre-paid credit cards.
