Hi!

I just wonder how you guys start with a new design? For my part I do it like this:

  • 1. Draw a sketch on paper, sketch contains position of the body element’s, tabs etc etc ..
  • 2. Open up Photoshop and start making first the body element’s, save it for web and I check then if the positions are ok.
  • 3. Working further on with the design, font’s, colors etc …
  • And you? :)

I usually am inspired by something. And it can be ANYTHING really …

Last night my girlfriend received a chocolate box from her sister … I LOVED the box so I took it from her (grabbed 2-3 chocolate at the same time) and I reproduced the color sheme on PS… I saved it and I will use it for a blog later this month.

I never sketch on paper , I really cant do anything on paper , maybe I should try.

I’m with DD. I search creattica, TF designshack, designsnack and other showcase sites. Then I just flow design really. I don’t really have a well laid out plan! I just photoshop until I’m happy. :)

inspiration can hit at anytime, walking to work, listening to music, dozing… then i roughly sketch layout on paper, wireframe (very roughly in PS) then get down to it. it kinda just evolves in PS after that – adding this, removing that etc

Ah! Didn’t know designschack and designsnack! I’ve briefly checked them and these are a good source of inspiration :)

@Glenn,

Glad to here that I’m not the only one that uses sketches :D

As DDStudios said, I always start with an idea. I don’t use paper, just get directly into Photoshop.
