When I wen’t to google and started searching for “Stock market for html templates” and “Good wordpress templates” and there is any direct link to themeforest in the first 3 pages. There are sites referring themeforest, but still no link. I wonder what would happen if it was theme forest was one of the first sites. It is one of the biggest stock sites for templates, and its not even on the first page. Just wondering why not.
A Very good question. I think the market is fiercely competitive, so that’d be one reason, but I agree it seems unusual that we aren’t higher up the rankings.
In addition to Envato marketing efforts, we can all contribute by blogging about and linking to the marketplaces, effectively strengthening the rank of the sites.

In terms of basic SEO , very few links (if none) have a title.
A sitemap.xml would also come in help.
I know these are just too basic, but I think it’s still needed. Open up an article in Wikipedia and try to find an anchor without a title.

Hey guys, good points! Tomorrow morning we actually have an SEO consultant coming in to the office as we finally hired someone to do a complete audit of our marketplaces. I think we do a decent job with SEO because we get a lot of search traffic, but I think there are probably holes in our system like the ones cmt pointed out that are quite basic and which we could patch up.
Hopefully Alex, our new SEO guru, can make sure we’re doing them all!!
As motionreactor says, blogging and links are always a help!

That phrase made me think…
You’d find plenty of users linking to ThemeForest (Envato at all) via Twitter.
How bad are “bit.ly” links in terms of SEO ?

I’ve heard bit.ly links are horrible as far as SEO goes. Although that’s just something I’ve read, nothing proven in my opinion but I can see how it would affect it, or at least NOT affect it lol
Have wondered the same thing in the past though. I’ve searched up keywords that I’d assume would find me ThemeForest but never did. You have to be pretty exact about your keywords, otherwise ThemeForest is not anywhere to be found on the search engines.
