After I bought a new PC last year, with 23” monitor, I didn’t want to discard my old 17” monitor so I ended up connecting both. The old (small) one is used mostly for sticky-notes, (a few) other windows gadgets and occasional IM chat window. It’s good this way, as I don’t really need that much of a space atm. But, on the other hand, sometimes I don’t feel right when one of my eyes gets “bombarded” by light, from the side where monitor stands. I feel discomfort sometimes, so I end up turning off that screen :) Maybe if I buy another one to make a symmetrical setup… O:)

Who would be so intellectually challenged to report that comment ? LiveReload is a tool to help web developers, in no competition with the marketplaces, on the contrary. It’s like saying check out Photoshop.

Forgot to mention it in my previous comment. It’s a life saver.

I use 1×27” display because switching between apps and windows is super fluid on OSX. But when I was on Windows (PC) I used 2×22”. Also experiencing less neck pain due to having only one display. Not to mention you can either save the money or buy a better display if only using one.

Dual 24’s, running as one big desktop — couldn’t imagine ever going back to a single monitor.

Exactly the same. As I said in other thread, I’m using 2x Dell U2412M as one extended display. For example when using Photoshop / InDesign, on left monitor is workspace, on the right all palettes.

When I use my laptop or a computer with single display, it feels like I am using a phone.

At the time being I am using one 24’ monitor but thinking about second. As for the workflow on one monitor it’s not that hard. I actualy rarely do alt+tab’ing. On Win7 just take one window to left, and one to right (it binds them to haft of the screen) and then just use Sublime Text 2 reload plugin so when I save it automaticly reloads. What is nice about that is that I can even have it full screen and when I save it automaticaly shows chrome and reloads (no alt+tab needed to switch between and refresh). And if you are using two monitors or even working side by side on one monitor (half screen code editor half browser) you can use Live Reload and it does the same as I wrote above but it also works as a less comiler so you can use it too for that (I am actualy waiting for a new release since Alfa 0.7 was crashing too much for me)

I’ve have similar feeling, cause.. I’m addicted to work with two monitors, because it gives full comfort.

been using the same XPS17 laptop for 100% of dev work over the past couple of years now. don’t own a desktop PC any more. should have a new external monitor coming this week (yew!) – this should increase productivity 10 fold.

all files are stored on a local NAS and when I’m out and about I VPN via my phone to checkout files using PhpStorm, work on them locally, then push them back over the VPN to home.

I have one iMac 27” , which is big enough.

But i was thinking of getting a second monitor to completely use as a live preview when building a site. Allthough i have enough room for placing windows next to each other, i still like to have sublime text full screen and see only the files to edit in..
