Please tell me maximum w3 errors are allowrd for approve theme? I have seen mostly themes have so many errors in w3 validation but these are approved by themeforest.

Also depends on what the errors are and how they are caused – sometimes its unavoidable and not detrimental to the theme.

No big errors are allowed. However, there are errors which can’t be avoided, as Charlie said:

  • If you’re using Google Fonts inside a link element in the header, you’ll get a validation error
  • If you’re embedding a Twitter widget and have a tweet which features a URL or a hashtag, you’ll get another validation error
  • If you’re embedding certain iframes like Vimeo or YouTube, again you’ll get validation errors

These can’t be avoided.

Sometimes the free / premium plugins that are included in the themes can have w3 errors too.

So it means if these errors occurs. Themeforest will not reject theme?

Exactly, but if you know or can avoid these, then do so. :)

Small errors are acceptable and unavoidable, as Ruben said, but if you’ll have markup errors, unclosed tags or stuff like that, I suppose it won’t go through the review process.

@RubenBristian regarding your first issue. In case you referred to smth. like this: <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=font1|font2' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>

which will give you a validation error ” bad value for attribute href”, its the pipe symbol which just needs to be encoded to %7C. That’s it.

Hope I could help someone ;) Cheers
