It depends on where in the US. In New York City or San Francisco, definitely not. In Arizona or Las Vegas, yes (but it’s 110 degrees in the summer!). In Detroit, you can get houses for $7000, less than the price of a car (but there’s crime and snow in the winter).

Good programmer can earn around 20000$/year but often is around 1200 – 1600$ / month.

Become a digital freelancer, so to speak, and set your own rules. If you are good and truly delve into the professional world, you can charge US$65 per hour, making up to 3K per week.

I’m freelancing for so long now, I did not have a clue until i read the discussion.

Seems in South Africa it’s $2000 to $4000 for a qualified and experienced php/Java programmer but it can go up to $6k or $8K if you’re surname is Wozniak. That’s per month.

At the rate that companies are phoning me to get stuff fixed and sorted they should probably pay a little more and demand better a quality workforce.

Searching for incomes of WordPress developers amongst the digital agencies, everyone is paying peanuts and the requirement is “Experience in customizing WordPress themes”.

Guess where they get their stuff.
