How much for a 3 page WP layout

Hello fellow authors ,

I have just been contacted by a client who is requesting me to do a 3 page wordpress layout and i am having a hard time giving him a price calculation.

So far i have only been making html/css websites for my clients so i need some help with the time frame, of course i have experience in WP but i never worked on a wordpress site on a time basis or in other words i never checked how long it took me.

Basically what i am asking you people is how long will a 3 page wp layout take. I totally understand that this depends on the complexity of the design, customization etc but there’s no design available yet.

The design will be sent to me tomorrow but he just wants a time-frame so i can give him an estimate.

So you don’t know how the design looks at the moment and he wants a time-frame?

What do you mean by “3-page” ?

Do you mean to add 3 pages from the admin? (like about, services, contact) – thus using one page template (page.php)

Or do you mean “create 3 page templates, like page.php, single.php and category/archive.php” ?

If you don’t have custom functions going on, and are familiar with WP syntax, porting an HTML to WP is actually easy and fun Shouldn’t take you more than 1 day.

Again, this is if you don’t go in too deep with functions or custom widgets/plugins.

From the information he gave me it’s going to be a 3 page website with 3 different pages so more than one page.php.

Basically he’s asking me how much time i am going to spend on his project. It’s like asking for a flight ticket price without knowing the destination..

Tell him you need more specifics and then you can talk price. Plain and simple.

I agree with Kailoon. You have already spent more time than needed with this person by posting on here. There is always something better out there.

Thanks for your opinions guys, Fortunately he just sent me the designs for a quote, i have decided to skip this one because they need too much adjustments.
