I just uploaded a new product and the creation of the preview took me more than 2 hours
How do you handle your preview files ?
Do you have a prebuilt template that you always use ?
I, personally, often create new preview images because i always have new ideas for how to display the heading the best way etc..
Only if i have products that are related i take the old one.
Just wondering if im the only one who spends so much time on that
But maybe the preview image is overrated ? Do buyers really care about a nicely designed preview ?

I actually spend more time on previews and packaging than i spend on creating an asset, really. So 2 hours from your side is really nothing
Cheers !
2-3 minutes as maximum usually
Best regards, Andrey
I spend a pretty good time preparing my preview because it really helps to distinguish an item from other items – which is also a good mechanism to attract more buyers. But the time I spend in preparing asset is way higher because it has to be properly tested. Buyers/Reviewers are only interested in the functionality and usefulness of the asset and not the preview.
Everything depends on the item. I have some epic previews with more than 50 images and I spent more than 2 hours to make them
I made preview image files template as category ( only drag and drop) images on it, it take about 2 minutes only.

Some cases, the variation ideas pops and hidden defects of the item appears only when we create previews. So there is no problem in investing time for preview. Sometimes I go back and completely revamp the item at the time of preview making.
A good preview image improves the CTR (click-through rate). So yes, it is important to take some time on it. I guess it also depends on the market, codecanyon might be different from Graphicriver, etc.. but it is important imo to have a great preview image to catch the potential client attention. What good is to have a great item for sale if no one clicks to see it?
So 2h is not to much of your time, if your sales improve because of that
I make my preview images with indesign. So that I can easily drop my design in the template.
But it still takes some time to finetune everything.

+1 And i think of the creating the preview as extra needed experience in Photoshop.
