Usually about 45 seconds. But that was getting me nowhere so on my item I have been working on all week, so far about 3 hours for the preview.

I have designed some ready to use preview templates, like for my business cards, thumbnail, etc…
But some items requires unique previews, which I really enjoy 2h+ on its design.

Preview images are incredibly important ;) The more time I spend the better the item normally turns out. If you spend alot of time, thats ok. It can only benefit the item!

Preview image is the first thing a potential buyer will notice. So definitely it HAS to be made with due care. I say take time. Take enough time to understand your product and extract the best out of it and showcase it. I spent 3 hours making 5-6 preview images, screenshots and animated gifs.
