Hey I’m putting a HTML5 audio tag in a “coming soon”-like page, and its not playing on Firefox 3.6. I’ve thought about getting Firefox 4 Beta, but if I’m reading this documentation right, 3.6 should play it. I don’t know if the ogg file is out of wack or what. I can play it through VLC and the m4a file plays fine in Safari.

Can anybody see an error?

<audio autoplay="true" autobuffer="true" loop="true">

        <source src="http://www.dennismars.com/dennismars/music/BuenaVistaSocialClub-GuatequeCampesino.m4a" type="audio/mp4" />

    <source src="http://www.dennismars.com/dennismars/music/BuenaVistaSocialClub-GuatequeCampesino.ogg" type="audio/ogg; codecs=vorbis" />

</audio>

Its all at http://www.dennismars.com/ feel free to check the all the code out. Its doesn’t seem to be this difficult, but its really giving me a hard time.

@OrganicBeeMedia Didn’t work immediately. Maybe it takes a second? Here’s how my .htaccess file looks now…

<ifmodule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
AddType application/ogg .ogg
</ifmodule>

Take it out of the ifmodule mod_rewrite.c tag

should look like

AddType application/ogg .ogg

<ifmodule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</ifmodule>

First of all thanks alot! I made the change and it still didn’t work. But I plugged in a new ogg file and and it worked. It could have been both the file and the .htaccess file, either way I’m just going to put in a different file up. Thanks again.
