I’m thinking that this is just because of the stellar google ranking your work gets compared to what he expects to see when googling his “name” (which as wiseguys showed is Kenneth Lauren Burns, not Ken Burns) :D

This is like if you’d be making a theme called Mitsu and you’d get sued by Mitsubishi Motors…. still, some legal advice, firstly through support and secondly from a local lawyer would be awesome, because you simply don’t ignore lawsuits, especially those coming from the US…

Be sure to keep us posted :D

Interesting, I never knew where the “Ken burn” term came from, looks like it does indeed come from that guy although he didn’t invent the concept: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Burns_effect

I think if your file doesn’t sell then it’s an easy choice to make, why bother taking a risk, his name is obviously linked to that effect, I would definitely not ignore it.

Maybe rename it “Active Burn” effect? :P

Anyway .. i just wanted to share this with you guys because i think that it can be something that we all can learn about from.. The funny thing is that i wanted to remove that file sometime soon, since it doesn’t produce any revenue anymore..

May be just change the item title, declare the message on item description and send that link to them. If they are fine with it, problem solved.

This could be a jobless lawyer’s activity while seeking next project from the Ken Burn guy :P

This morning i received the most strange email
As far as i know e-mails are a warning, you cannot be sued or been warn for a sued if you don’t get fiscal notice first via your post office(home).

Also whoever send you that notice must have the legate copyright over the name Ken Burns.

Any way if i where you ill refer you to that Image.

so when you replay the mail you can attach it :P

Make something like this with “Ken”, and send it to his lawyer.
