Hello guys! Should I ask you some tips to improve myself and get much more sales? I have 3 files here in FlashDen with 148 sales until now. It’s not so bad, but surely need better sales. I think my files are quality files, but there should be something what holds back the sales but I don’t really see what it is. Thank you, and any suggestions are appreciated!
you need more files.
Basically the more files you upload the more exposure you will get = more sales. Put your items on adobe exchange too not only will you benefit from more sales but you will have the added bonus of the referal money for each registered user that deposits cash here on flashden Also get yourself active in the flashden community, people get to know who you are by the comments you are making to threads and other items, people will start to recognise your avatar and will start to look at what files you have available.
I noticed that also, if you have more files + more sales you get more sales people trust you then more.
It is a bit weird but understandable.
How more sales you have how faster you grow
Weird enough i noticed that some of the top sellers don’t know much about flash and actionscript only basic but do get a lot of sales i don’t quite understand that to be honest. I think it has something to do with design and trusting the buyer because it has so many sales.
So here is the tip, just keep updating and uploading files and help the people who buy your files but also keep looking for other ways to earn money beside of flashden

As a buyer i have seen files created by top20 authors, and believe me..some of them are a real mess in coding
Unnamed variables, timeline code, lots of functions, not even a bit of oop, and the list can go on ..
So it’s not only about your coding skills.. It’s more about design and usability.

Addition to the above suggestions, I would advice to invest some time on smaller items to test the water. At present you have 3 items but all are website templates. Usually multi-modular items are too complex to start with and hard to observe the demand and to understand reason for low/high sales from previous experiences.
Regarding your existing files, I think it is hard to improve the sales at this times as more number of complex templates are being posted by many authors.
Buyers are not aware of just how good your AS3 skills are, your pro template and smart xml template are fantastic. The only downside is you use almost 100% AS3 which makes it difficult for novices to make some basic alterations. Your sites allow the pulling in of AS2 as well as AS3 swfs, you are the only coder I know that has managed to accomplish this. Consider using some color like the new supernova site – thats only AS2 but looks pretty.

My advice:
1. You need more files. (Like Chuckanucka said… )
2. You don’t need more files. (Look at VF portfolio…only 3 items )
3. There is no rules.
4. Be kind to your customers.
5. Listen to your customer’s needs.
6. Think about the needs of this specific community… Pro & novice.
7. And make it simple, precise and functional.
Maybe there’s no much in what I say… but it works for me.
