Icon Design Help

As some of you may know, I’m a web designer. I’m not the best at icons/logos, and therefore I require some assistance. A friend of mine wanted me to design a logo for his video production outfit. If you could, please take a look at the logo and let me know what you think. Thanks.

Coffee Box Media

Hi, I like the idea behind the logo. My suggestion would be to use the coffee mug and saucer but add your own creativity to it. I know that it’s commonly used, but the bean just doesn’t stand out enough. Maybe a coffee mug with a pile of coffee beans in it or a box with a pile of beans in and the logo coffee box on the box or you could just give the bean more details…. Just some ideas.

Like the font – like the bean – it says more than a cup of coffee would anyway. Less is more – almost every time when your talking about logos. What I don’t like: colors – and the bean shape itself – you could remove that “shine” line, that in my opinion is totally useless. Also the distance between the elements is a bit off I think – the text should be moved a little downward.
