Just Posted my 8th WordPress theme here at TF and I still made it work well with IE6 .
My question is: Do other authors still continue to account for IE6 and for how much longer?
BTW here is my newest theme, just approved: [removed]

I try to make my code cross-browser compatible but if the IE6 annoys me I stop coding for it
I don’t support IE6 , I will never support IE6 anymore in my entire life![]()

Congrats on big number 8! That’s awesome!
I think many users tend to still support the very basics of IE6 , such as box model and transparency issues, and leave it at that. Some take a more holistic approach and choose not to support it at all. It’s a judgment call, perhaps consider the most likely niche and market for your latest theme and determine support that way
(I’ve had to remove your item link as we don’t allow linking to ones own items on the forums except in one or two cases, I’m sure many users will have a peek via your profile page (did I mention it looks awesome?))
I always throw on a PNG fix and make minor changes to ensure it’s “acceptable” in IE6 .
I always do this at the end of the project. I don’t know if its the way I code, but rarely do I have a gigantic mess when I look at the final design in IE6 , and I’ll just make a few minor changes to make sure it’s still usable and all. This is never something I devote much time to, though.

Probably I’m not allowed to post a link to my Tumblr, so I’ll just quote my blog post:
I am proud to announce that a few day ago I finished my last work for a client with support for Internet Explorer 6. As of today, CMT Studio fully stops supporting IE6 . Any clients that persist their webiste to support IE6 will be fired. I do believe that ethics and support between developer community are more important than money.
