I try to make my templates look bearable on IE7, but wouldn’t go further than that. Even if it means losing a couple of sales, the compromise in design / features is certainly not worth it.

winxp come with ie6 , win7 come with ie8 . winxp and win7 is the most popular windows. ie6 is dead , so I think we just support ie8+ You can search for some analytic of browsers. ie7 have very small percent.
