Since I couldn’t find any topic related to this, PLEASE STOP WITH THE DAMN BANNERS AND OFFERS, are you guys trying to find money for the winter holidays? What the hell? For the past month we’ve had banners all day long, no surprise our sales are so down

Personally I find the answers from staff in this thread unprofessional, not to say a little ignorant. Authors have highlighted some very good points here and with a great deal of clarity, and the staff didn’t manage to respond to any of them, shrugging most of the important questions off.

I know I’m a new author and I’m still getting a feel for how things work around here, but it’s pretty obvious that this place is going downhill. Personally I’ve already got my eye on a number of online marketplaces, and if these changes go through I will consider leaving CodeCanyon for good, because no one will sell my time like this. I chose a freelancing career precisely because I love managing my own time. I love supporting my customers but I don’t want to be under any obligation to do so. I’m thankful to Envato for everything they did for me so far, but I feel this is one huge step in the wrong direction, and definitely a deciding factor to whether or not I’m going to stay here and continue offering my products.

And considering the number of elite authors in this thread that are strongly opposed to this, I think Envato should ask themselves if they’re really going in the right direction. If the whole community disagrees with something, why do you feel the need to push it?

Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke.

The guy have just complained he doesn’t have twitter account.

@Envato: Update the T&C with obligation to have a twitter account in order to receive support? Mhm?!?

Yep, is off-toopic but I woke up seeing this new bright hosting banner on top of the marketplace…. c’mon guys…!!!

Back in-topic: don’t make sense to consume my great Logitech backlighted keyboard until we don’t have more details and precise answers. Stewboon with last question is just the man trying to calm down people at concerts while they’re waiting the main performer that is late :)

If you guys want to improve the support here on envato, give authors the OPTION to enable a support pack for their buyers, by providing a good support platform for us and for a cheap price such as 3-5 dollar per user, we could easily manage the support and control the costs of it providing a great support. In resume:

  • Provide the option to enable support package for authors (per item*)
  • By enabling this, the buyer has the option to buy this support package for very cheap 3-5 dolars
  • The buyer has then access to the items support page (made by envato)

What this would bring:

  • Money to the authors so they can pay their support staff or at least a percentage
  • Money to envato, by providing us the support platform we don’t mind that you guys take a percentage (of course the support platform/page needs to be pretty good)
  • Buyers have a way to pay very little for a premium support

Do you guys agree with me?

Cheers

This announcement represents a 360 degree turn
A 360 degree turn would be full circle. I think you meant a 180 degree turn. :)

I agree with you, but not on these two items. $3 – $5 that barely gets me a coffee. Your pricing is only cost effective if the support pack last less then a week and you have a top selling theme.

If you have 1 buyer, and he buys a support pack for $5, you now have a guy who expects the world and your losing time and money.
