Improving a tumblr theme

Hi,

You need to consider the font choice, styles applied, general composition, the hierarchy and things like leading (line height), alignment and use of whitespace.

So, I would be grateful about any suggestions, preferably as specific as possible and all kinds of critique.

Btw, I know that slab-serif for body copy is generally not a good idea, but I really like this one (at least when font size is not too small)

Ok, so since no one has given their feed back yet i’ll share mine. first of you need alot of work before this can be accepted at themeforest its nowhere near the standards i’m not a pro designer but i can certainly point out whats wrong with you’re design.

So I’ve made a few screenies on you’re design so you could understand more of what i’m trying to point out. There’s alot of empty space on the right side of the page, you should organize it in columns 5 or 6 columns maybe. The search on the bottom parts doesn’t have a space below it. give it a little space. You don’t present users with a long endless block of text, users tend not to read it Because its like a huge boring book. I don’t see any footers it needs to have a footer.

Other than that the background seems nice, but the font doesn’t feel like premium to me. anyway i hope it helps.

actually i was making some repairs just as you were looking at it, so this followers and padding issue i was very aware of and these are now fixed. I also rethought the font selection and it looks better to my own eyes… About the footer area, I’m not sure if a permanent footer would be a good idea as users in tumblr can switch on a feature called endless scrolling and so in that case the footer is never reached to.

I haven’t resubmitted it yet, wanted to know your thoughts on the improvements first. Also I’m not very pleased about how the individual posts’ footers look, there is definitely something that bugs the eye, but I can’t put my finger on it.

So any help is welcome.

Did some more changes (typography mainly). I would appreciate some feedback before submitting again…
