Including page builder and theme option at my new theme

Hey folks,

I’m developing a new theme right now, and want to include page builder and theme option, like other themes in the marketplace.

About theme options: I noticed that there are open-source theme option such as options tree, SMOF, etc. so I think that I don’t need to build it from scratch, but which is ‘the best’? maybe it would be better if I’ll develop my own theme options or the open-source codes are good enough ?

About page builder: I think that I’ll develop my own page builder, but first of all I need to know some things – do you develop your own page builder to your themes? if not, which page builder do you use, and which page builders are in the market and everybody can use? if you develop the page builder from scratch, do you develop it as an external plugin or as a code in ‘functions.php’, built-in in your each theme?

You should build your own pagebuilder so you have total control over your own product and can add things the way you want.

That plugin is nice, but i’ve seen pagebuilders in themes that are way ahead and better.

Aqua Page Builder is only as “way ahead and better” as the developer who decides to extend it to meet their personal requirements. It is standard driven, highly flexible, highly extensible, has UI/UX that feels like home with WordPress & most importantly free.

The great thing about open source products like AQPB is there are a lot of people who can test it, report bugs, improve things and that naturally leads to a more stable, more refined end product than those which is confined under a single developer/team.

I use Syamils aqua page builder in my themes, so easy to extend and make your own. Theres no sense in starting from scratch, work smarter not harder. Highly recommended.

I agree. Still i think it’s better to have your own product. BUT i won’t lie – i’m going to have a look at it
