I’m looking for an article that featured a world’s first technology breakthrough of a lens/sensor combo that allows taking photos in a manner that you can decide about the focus later on your computer. It does not involve compositing different shots manually. It was a video where the artist adjusted a slider and the focus changed on the photo. Like a lens blur filter in photoshop where the image has a proper z buffer map. Ive seen this on 3d images but now there is a hardware based solution for photos. Any1 got the link? I can’t find it.

No thats a photoshop trick. I read a hardware based solution. The lens is like how bees and flies see the world, their eye is split up to a lot of smaller eyes if you know what I mean. That somehow allows the photographer not to care about focus.
