When people say minimalism I think they are missing a big word that should be glued to it: elegant. Elegant minimalism. A lot of Wordpress authors on Themeforest get this dead on. Watching the video, I like your box idea, but it’s no secret VideoHive likes flashy, very detailed, epileptic seizure inducing animations. But they should, because it looks great.
How you could (or I would) potentially maintain the minimalism, but give it some elegant sexy stuff:
Radial ramp for depth. 3d box animations in Cinema 4d. 3d text displays, gloss. Like the previous poster said, it’s extremely flat.
Things can no longer look like a 1980s public access T.V. schedule. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY likes it.

I’d have rejected it too. The main thing to look at is the typography. It feels default. It also goes way out of title-safe… a technical no-no for video and rejectable on that alone. Take a random still from your animation and ask yourself: “does that look like a great piece of design?”
As a whole, I feel the movement lacks dynamism and flow.
Bogz actually sums it up really well. The entire trick to minimalism is to do very little, but nevertheless make it feel full. When you do minimalism, every minimal element has to be absolutely spot on. The eye needs to delight in the perfect placement of a piece of type with respect to an image, or the elegant and unusual arc of an animated fly in.
It takes years of design experience and a great eye to be able to do this, so don’t feel too despondent.
Thank you for your inputs, apparently my entire design is flawed, because I was kinda going for the simple blocks and transitions. I guess I will rebuild with particles and optical flares

Sorry but I would reject it too. Nothing to add more from what previous authors said.
Ok, well why we are talking about the subject I am working on a new file that is all but complete. If I could get your opinions before I deal with rejection that would be great. Here is a screen shot. It is in 3d and completely changeable.
Here are some screen shots

looks good.
Looks cool, but really depends how your animation goes. The brick background on the 2nd, dunno. Very red. I think if you made the bricks more like a bath stone with the blue and pink colors splashing onto it, you’d be golden. But that’s just me.

My advice… If you were going to shoot that with a camera crew, think about how you would shoot it.
