IE8 it’s still the world’s most popular browser. Avoid a soft-rejection.

I can’t share the numbers but a high rate of items are rejected for this.

I wonder how exact these numbers really are. I have been looking at quite a bit of these statistics and differences among them are quite big. Never saw such a big % for IE, hopefully it’s a bit less :). It probably also depends a lot on what is the user base of some sites. Do you have any numbers for which browsers users of Envato have? But yeh IE8 still has a very big share and can’t be neglected if you don’t want a lot of complaints.

Loads of business apps need IE. I think all/most bank systems use IE. That’s why it’s most ‘popular’. But if you did a survey with ‘common’ users, let’s say on facebook, chrome/ff would be the most common answer.

I really doubt those numbers are accurate. Yeah, the stats come from 40k websites, but where can we see their demographic spread? Doesn’t matter what people those sites target, but where are they from? Because, to be honest, I don’t see TF being popular in Asia. Maybe I’m wrong…

For example, here in Europe, I’ve yet to see stats on one of my client’s (or some friend’s clients) showing such a big share for IE. It actually always follows Chrome and Firefox. And I won’t get into mobile.

Anyway, some good feedback would be buyers sharing numbers on their/their customer’s sites. That would be really interesting to see.

I think that’s an old statistic. Only 16% use Internet Explorer, 32% FF and 45% Chrome:

Hey Ivor – I got a soft-reject last night that was a little none descript, & I noticed I’d unticked IE8 support by accident (it does support ie8).

Could this be one of the reasons I was soft-rejected?

Cheers mate!
